20 Aspects of Being a Spiritual Finder

Man’s seeking nature

We human beings are fundamentally extremely curious. This is not hard to spot when you notice small children investigating the most mundane things for hours, and after having experienced their endless streams of ‘why is it that … ?’ questions. For many of us this inherent curiosity also extends itself in our lives once we reach a more mature age. Whether we are looking for purpose, understanding or meaning, we constantly want to expand our present reality to something more authentic, fulfilling, true and beautiful.

As the vast amount of possibilities that life offers can be overwhelming, and having insight in what spiritual seeking actually embodies can be a huge benefit, as it serves as a blueprint that has the possibility to guide us towards satisfaction, peace and clarity in a more harmonious way.

Some people require a spark of wonder, mystery or enlightenment to actually kickstart them on the seeking spiritual path, but once we start stumbling upon things that we never would have expected to find, the journey of seeking, searching and unraveling the depths of our Infinite Intelligence only becomes more rewarding, wondrous and satisfying. So what is it like to be a spiritual seeker? Let’s find out.

SEEKERS VS FINDERS

First of all it’s important to notice that not everyone is here to be a seeker, as some people are leaning more towards the ‘finding type’. These finders are more focussed on putting knowledge into practice. They are more results-focused and less on the mechanics, intention and specifics of their creative process. The creativity of a finder is focused on benefits, achieving results and they have less control over the specifics, outcomes and details of their life. This doesn’t mean that they are less satisfied than seekers, it’s just a different journey, as their life path is more destined.

I’m not going in the specifics of the finding type, but the very fact that you’re reading this article is a strong indicator that you are on the seeking path. So without further ado, so let’s dive into the core aspects of what being a seeker entails.

THE CORE OF BEING A SPIRITUAL SEEKER

Every person is obviously absolutely unique, but being a seeker has some core elements that unite us all. Let’s go over the most essential ones:

  • A seeker is here to create and collect wisdom while elevating his state of consciousness or awareness. He seeks out how creating love works. How can I expand and magnify love?

  • A seeker wants to get rid of bad habits and learn new skills to lead his life to a greater sense of joy, satisfaction and flow. What toxicity am I clinging onto?

  • Facing and dismantling fears, pushing boundaries and exploring new, often unknown situations are key aspects of being a seeker.

  • Gaining insight into the mechanisms of creation is a seeker's goal.

  • A seeker constantly questions his own behavior. Why am I doing this?

  • Seekers are constantly trying to improve themselves.

  • Seekers are less interested in the results but more in the process of creation.

  • Seekers want to arm themselves to face new, unknown situations in a more efficient manner.

  • Seekers have a lot more freedom to use their creativity to make their own choices.

  • They arrange everything themselves; the approach, the objectives, the meaning, the motivation and so on.

  • Seekers can let go of a desire when they see the limitations of it, a finder cannot.

  • A seeker must be aware that finding does not give him lasting satisfaction, because only searching satisfies him. This can be dangerous for a seeker, as he can focus too much on results and forget that he has to search.

  • A seeker needs to use his creativity to create his own life framework. He must also learn to realize that the meaning of life is to create, and that it is precisely the creative process that gives him the greatest joy in life. He must continue to search and learn to create more consciously, which gives him even greater levels of satisfaction.

  • A seeker becomes dissatisfied if he thinks it is about the results instead of striving for insight. The emphasis must be on the creative pursuit of insight. A seeker can and also wants to achieve results, but he is primarily interested in improving himself. A seeker wishes to improve himself so that he can more easily handle future situations.

  • That is why he is more concerned with the future. He keeps asking himself all sorts of questions such as: ‘Why do I do what I do?’ ‘How do i do it?’ ‘Does it make sense?’ ‘Is it what I truly want?’ ‘Does that make me a better person?’ All questions that finders don't care about.

  • A seeker is extremely suitable for long-term planning. He also has an eye for current solutions that may come in handy later.

  • When searchers feel lost, they can simply pick up the flow by the small act of starting to search again. In the event of failure, they should not give up hope, but instead must look for alternatives and realize that this was an essential lesson to do better next time.

  • Searchers are idealistic, looking for ideology. Finders only want insight into their current situation, they are realistic.

  • Seekers will never find peace for a long time. Results do not give them satisfaction, only manifestation and the creative process do.

  • Seekers are less likely to become depressed in comparisson to a finder, as they just have to get started with themselves to feel better again. Finders, on the other hand, must achieve results before they can feel good. Searchers can slow down their progress by only going after results and thereby forgetting that their task is not to find but to search.

YOUR PRECIOUS CONTRIBUTION

Recognized some aspects of the list above? Here is one last piece of advice if you did; keep working on yourself. Finders enjoy prosperity, seekers enjoy well-being. Finders want to get started with the world, seekers with themselves. Finders enjoy the fruits of work, seekers enjoy the work itself.

No one else will do what you will do. No one else has your unique experiences and perspectives. No one else can create things the way you can. No one else will change the world the way you will. You will forever continue to transmute confusion, fear and pain into hope, joy and love, and the way you express that is absolutely unique to you. Remember that the beauty that arises from your experience is unlike anything else and sharing those insights, achievements or creations has the possibility to enlighten, liberate, awaken yourself, others and the world at large. Realize how precious that is, enjoy the flow and do you :)
